Redlands United is delighted to announce that Albert Ferrer has committed to coach both the FQPL1 Under 23’s and the Under 15 Academy team in 2025.
Albert is a school teacher by profession and whilst currently in Spain, we got to know him over long late-night video calls. Our current interim Technical Director and Head Coach Garrett McDuling had this to say about this exciting appointment.
“I can’t wait to commence working with Albert. He will be a perfect fit in both the 15’s and 23’s space where he will bring energy to the playing group along with a very technical but also positive mindset. Albert has a very strong coaching CV to date, where he will bring in January with him to Redlands a UEFA A-Licence, along with 15 years of coaching experience. Albert has worked across a wide variety of coaching roles, including both head and assistant coach, analyst, scout and methodology director. Albert has most recently coached in Spain at CF Palleja, Sant Cugat FC, Gimnàstic de Manresa – FC Andorra and the Villarreal Academy”.
The 30-year-old Spaniard commented that he was really excited to come on board next season, whilst ensuring both his teams are not only competitive but also receive the attention to detail and development that the players of those ages require.
Pre-Season will recommence in January 2025 where Albert will continue to build the Under 15’s squad, and also in late January he will head to the Senior squads’ pre-season Gold Coast camp to meet his Under 23’s players who are in the final stages of their trials this week.
Bienvenido Albert Ferrer and welcome to the Red Devils!
